Community Runs Deep

53 years of bringing neighbourhoods together through shared celebration

This Is What We’re About

Every fiesta week tells a story. Every culture brings something unforgettable. Together, they create something the world needs more of — real connection.

From the streets of Benidorm to the plazas of San Antonio, from Toronto’s Filipino community to Oshawa’s own backyard — fiesta weeks are where heritage comes alive. Where strangers become neighbours. Where food is love and music is the universal language.

Oshawa Fiesta Week

Fifty-three years strong. Twelve international pavilions. One city that knows how to throw a party. Oshawa’s Fiesta Week turns Durham Region into a passport-free trip around the world — Caribbean jerk beside Ukrainian pierogies, Portuguese churrasco down the block from Indian curry. The kick-off concert shuts down downtown. The pavilions keep the energy going all week. This is where it all comes together.

🇪🇸 Spain

Benidorm Fiestas Patronales

Spain’s greatest fiesta week explodes with fireworks over the Mediterranean, towering papier-mâché fallas burning in the streets, and the kind of passion that only 200,000 people dancing at 3am can deliver. This isn’t a festival — it’s a way of life.

🇺🇸 Texas

Fiesta San Antonio

Ten days. Three million people. One unstoppable celebration of Tex-Mex culture, military tradition, and community pride. From the Battle of Flowers parade to the Night Out river parade lit by a thousand lanterns — everything in Texas is bigger, especially the heart.

🇵🇭 Philippines

Filipino Fiesta Toronto

The Philippines knows how to throw a party — and Toronto’s Filipino community brings that energy full force. Lechon roasting, tinikling dancers moving between bamboo poles, karaoke that goes until sunrise, and a warmth that makes strangers feel like family from the first handshake.

🧡 WHAT UNITES EVERY FIESTA WEEK

Strip away the language. Look past the borders. Every fiesta week — whether it’s in a Canadian city, a Spanish coastal town, a Texas plaza, or a Toronto waterfront — is built on the same foundation:

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Family First

Multi-generational celebrations where grandparents and toddlers share the same dance floor

🍽️

Food Is Love

Every dish tells a story of homeland, migration, adaptation, and pride

🎵

Music Connects

You don’t need to speak the language to feel the rhythm in your bones

🌍

Pride of Place

Celebrating where you came from while embracing where you are now

53 YEARS OF BRINGING
THE WORLD TO DURHAM REGION

Oshawa’s Fiesta Week was built on a simple truth: the best way to understand each other is to celebrate together. For 53 years, 12 international pavilions have opened their doors to share food, music, dance, and stories from every corner of the globe. This isn’t multiculturalism as a buzzword — it’s multiculturalism as a lived, tasted, danced reality.
