Celebrating Oshawa’s Cultural Mosaic: MPP Jennifer French Highlights Fiesta Week at Queen’s Park
May 23, 2025

As proud organizers of Oshawa’s cherished Fiesta Week, we were deeply honored to hear MPP Jennifer French recognize our festival in the Ontario Provincial Legislature. Her thoughtful remarks were more than a gesture—they were a heartfelt tribute to the spirit of multiculturalism that defines Oshawa.
A Celebration of Community and Heritage
For over five decades, Fiesta Week has served as a pillar of cultural unity in Oshawa. It brings together residents and visitors alike to experience the music, food, dance, and traditions of cultures from around the globe. More than a festival, it is a living expression of Oshawa’s diversity—a week where the world gathers in one community.
A Powerful Acknowledgment from Queen’s Park
When MPP French stood in Queen’s Park to speak about Fiesta Week, she eloquently captured the essence of what our festival represents: unity through diversity. She praised the passion of our performers, the tireless commitment of our volunteers, and the inclusive platform we’ve built—one that allows every cultural group in Oshawa to proudly share their heritage. Her words were a celebration not just of our event, but of the community spirit that fuels it.
Looking Ahead to Fiesta Week 2025
We are thrilled to welcome everyone to Fiesta Week 2025, taking place June 15–21. The celebration begins with our free Concert & Street Festival at Memorial Park on Sunday, June 15—a family-friendly event filled with live performances, food vendors, and cultural showcases.
From June 16 to 21, our beloved cultural pavilions will open their doors across the city, inviting guests to travel the world without leaving Oshawa. Each pavilion offers authentic cuisine, traditional performances, and the warmth of community hospitality.
Pavilion passports (required for entry after 4 PM) will be available for purchase by cash:
- At the Concert & Street Festival on June 15
- At any participating cultural pavilion during Pavilion Week
Whether this is your first visit or your fiftieth, we welcome you to join the celebration.
Gratitude to Our Community
We extend our sincere thanks to MPP Jennifer French for her support and for shining a provincial spotlight on our efforts. Her recognition affirms the importance of preserving and celebrating cultural identity in our city.
Fiesta Week would not be possible without the dedication of our volunteers, the enthusiasm of our cultural partners, and the unwavering support of our community. Together, we create something truly meaningful.
As we prepare for another incredible year, we invite everyone across Ontario to experience Fiesta Week in Oshawa this June. Join us in celebrating the music, flavors, and friendships that define our community—and help us continue building a legacy of inclusion and cultural pride.
